Spring Term 1

This term's science question was, "Can we grow our own salad?" Have a look at our results plus a few extra ingredients from the grocers!

Pizza Making

As part of our farm topic we have been designing and making our own pizzas. We have learnt about why vegetables are important for us. We have also thought about where bread and cheese comes from. Please have a look at the Gruffalos in action being Master Chefs!

Beeches farm shop visit

The Gruffalos were tremendous ambassadors to the school today in visiting the community's local farm shop, Beeches. We were given a series of tasks such as identifying lots of products produced from a cow, finding out how much 2 litres of milk costs and how much an onion weighs? Finally, we bought some recently baked bread, fresh butter and milk and had delicious toast and a drink at school. Many thanks to all the staff at Beeches of Walkley for being so welcoming and helpful. We will be back again!

Computing

In computing we have also been using code to solve some tricky tasks. Please have a go at your coding skills at home with this superb website!

The Gruffalos planted seeds for our end of term salad today! We have planted radish, cress, lettuce and chive seeds. We hope they germinate and grow!

Computing

In computing, we have been looking at data handling and designing and producing our own bar charts. Here is a great website which lets you build your own chart. Enjoy Gruffalos!
