Our class story

Posted on September 21, 2017 by rbaron.

is week our learning has been based around the story that our class name comes from – ‘Sharing a Shell’ by Julia Donaldson.

Can you tell your grown up the names of the characters in the story?

We listened to the story lots of times.

We talked about where the story is set.

We talked about how the characters felt at different stages of the story.

We joined in with the speech in the story and used expression to show how the characters might have felt when they were speaking.

Then we discussed each character in turn. We described what they looked like. After that we used our creative skills to make puppets.

We used several tools – scissors to cut out the body shape and glue sticks to apply glue. We thought carefully about the colours and types of material to use. Then we attached a lolly stick.

Over the next few weeks we will use our puppets to act out the story.
