Ancient Egyptians Pyramids

This week we have been learning about how the Ancient Egyptians built the pyramids.

As a class we though about how they moved the huge blocks of stone.

We used some children as an example. Here are Foxes exploring how to move a block of stone. We came up with pushing and pulling. We also discussed how we can create less friction using water to make a slippery surface.

Miss Kendall's Maths group

In maths we have been investigating the perimeter of different 2D shapes.

The Year 3’s worked really hard to identify the different properties of 2D shapes and measure accurately in cm using a ruler.

Shadows

Foxes have been learning lots about light and light sources.

We made the most of sun the we had last week and started looking at our shadows and how they are formed.

See if you can answer the following questions.

Can you name a translucent, transparent and opaque object?

Where do shadows come from?

How are they formed?

What is a light source?

What can light only travel in?
