At Walkley Primary School we believe that inclusion and access to education is a fundamental part of ensuring a child is able to meet and exceed their full potential. We believe that every child has a right to a quality led education and we must work hard to overcome barriers to learning. The meeting of Special Educational Needs involves all the staff in school. We work together to ensure that a child’s needs are identified, assessed and met. It is this whole school approach which underpins the effective implementation of this policy.
The school follows the Special Educational Needs code of practice as outlined in the Code of Practice of 2014. Our Special Needs and Disabilities Coordinator is Janet Watson.
