Autumn 2

Week 7

What a fabulous final week we have had. We loved our visit from Father Christmas! Thank you for our gifts! We are loving playing with Dobble and the post office.

We had a gorgeous Christmas Party celebrating the wonderful Caterpillars!

Have a fabulous holiday!

Week 6

We hope you enjoyed our fabulous performance of 'Whoops-A-Daisy Angel'.

Look at our fabulous costumes.

We loved making our crispy cakes and talking all about the melting of chocolate! They were delicious!

Week 5

We had a great week doing having lots of fun! We enjoyed the Christmas Fair, watching the KS1 performance of The Magical Christmas Journey and even had our second Class Wide Reward Party! We had a great time making salt dough and are patiently waiting for it to dry so we can decorate them!

Week 4

The Caterpillars have once again had a great week! We have been busy doing art, music, R.E, maths, RWI, Dazzle Dance and Computing... All in 5 days!

In maths this week, we have been looking at the composition of 4 and 5.

In art, we have been drawing a step by step rabbit. We worked hard to make our step look the same as the example. We loved it so much we did it twice!

We have been reading The Gruffalo's Child. We drew pictures from the story and enjoyed making the Beebot travel to the different locations on our map.

Thanks you for a great week everyone. We can't wait for our Class Wide Reward Party next Friday.

Have a great weekend

Week 3

We have had quite a week! We have been to the forest, focused on Anti- Bullying week, and celebrated Children in Need!

In the forest, we explored using our positional language on our way up as we followed the treasure hunt.

We also read Percy the Park Keeper and found out about the animals who lost their homes in the storm. We took our own woodland creatures and built them their own home to hibernate in.

We loved playing in the leaves!

Our art this week has been looking at Martin Ridgley. We loved how real his paintings look. We learnt pencil skills to help our fur look real.

Pudsey Bear Day has consisted of face paint, Pudsey Pong, Obstacle Couses and lots of Pudsey fun in the classroom! It has been a great day! Thanks for making it lots of fun, Caterpillars!

Have a great weekend.

Week 2

We have had a great week. We have been very busy this week. We have explored Kandinsky and the shapes he uses in his paintings. We have made our very own version by cutting out circles we painted with colour we mixed. Using scissors is hard, but we persevered and it looks fab!

We have talked about Rememberance Day and how we remember people who have died in the war. We thought about the people in our lives today who make it special and who we want to say thank you to. We made our own poppies to wear on 11/11.

We are looking forward to exploring the forest next week, and of course, my favourite day of the school year... Children in Need!

See you next week!

Week 1

We have had a look at signs of autumn and went exploring to find leaves to make our own Leaf Man. We thought carefully about which leaves would make good body parts and brought them back into the classroom and enjoyed sticking our Leaf People together.

The Caterpillars have finished all of our RWI Set 1 sounds and will be continuing to practise our segmenting and blending. We have had fun exploring in our classroom. We have been busy exploring colour mixing and have made lots of different colours using the primary colours.

We loved our first Dazzle Dance. Thank you so much Amy. We loved it!
