More Christmas Chaos!

Still Celebrating!!!

This week we have had lots of counting activities in Elmers. We have talked about the count down to Christmas and have started our 3. Yes, 3 advent calendars. We have also been learning about the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah. We have watch a cartoon that told us why Jewish people celebrate and have been using our cutting and colouring skills to make our own Menorah's. You can watch the video again here.

We have been practicing hard ready for our Christmas performance and have been starting to decorate the Elmer's classroom ready for Christmas. We have all put decorations on the tree and made some beautiful paper chains in the Elmer colours. They look lovely.

Here is a video of us decorating the tree. We hope you enjoy.

Happy Birthday!

Its always a party in Elmers but this week we have been focusing on Birthday Parties. We have been learning how to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey, Musical Statues, Musical Chairs and this has helped us with managing our feelings and behaviour, knowing that its ok to not win but that we can still be happy and cheer on our friends.

We have danced our little hearts out to party music , made our very own Birthday Cards developing our physical and creative skills and finally this week we have made and eaten a chocolate birthday cake. It was exciting adding the ingredients and seeing how much they changed when we had cooked the cake. Yum Yum!

All this partying has made us tired Elmers but there is still Christmas left to celebrate. Watch this space.

We also have some new outside Maths activities.

Here are some of the Elmers enjoying making the Ten Green Bottles fall off the wall.

Children In Need

The children had a fantastic time colouring, having their faces painted, wearing crazy Pudsey ears and all for a great cause. The school raised lots of money and we thank you for your support again this year.

Here is a snap shot of the fun that we had.

Children in Need

Welcome back after a well earned half term break. Thank you for your support with our learning so far and we hope you enjoyed looking through our pictures. We hope you have all had a lovely relaxing half term filled with fun and excitement.

We are certainly getting excited about this half terms theme - Let's Celebrate as we get to share Bonfire Night, Diwali and Christmas together.

We have already begun learning our Nativity songs and have lots of fun activities planned ahead. We can't wait!

Here are the children in their first week back celebrating Bonfire Night by making sparklers and learning about Diwali through stories, videos and activities.

We worked together to make a bonfire in our outside area and used the sparklers we had made to roleplay our own Bonfire night. We had fun singing songs and throwing glitter into the air to make our own sparkling fireworks.

Here we are making Rangolli patterns in the playdough as part of our learning about Diwali the Hindu festival of light.
