Pre-school MMR vaccinations
Sheffield City Council are encouraging parents and guardians to book children's pre-school vaccinations before they go on a summer holiday to prevent the disease from spreading.
There is currently an outbreak of measles across the country. They want to make sure that all pre-school children are vaccinated before they start school this September.
Children should have 2 doses of their MMR vaccine, this quite often is not the case for one reason or another.
There is no specific antiviral treatment for measles. Vaccination is the only way to prevent the disease.
