Spring 1 Heroes
Spring 1 Week 6
We have had a very exciting morning joining Dazzle Dance Amy in the hall for some Chinese dancing. We took turns to be the dragon's head & move around the hall, we did some ribbon dancing, using our arms to make circles, zig zags & waves, & we also cooled ourselves down with a gentle fan dance.
Spring 1 Week 4
I have had lots of fun getting to know the Elmers this week.
I am so impressed by their polite manners. They are also amazing at tidying up and dancing. Well done everyone!
We've been busy sorting and matching 2D shapes. The Elmers are fantastic at knowing lots of shape names. We also made superhero pictures with the shapes. I love how different each picture is.
We've also listened to the story of Ten Little Superheroes and joined in with the actions like POW, ZAP and BOOOOOOOOM!
On Thursday we celebrated Miss Daughtry's birthday with some balloons. Thank you for all your smiles this week Elmers. Love Miss Baron x
Spring 1 Week 3
This week, we have spent more time outside playing in the mud kitchen creating lots of meals, snacks & potions. After listening to the story Zog & the Flying Doctors, we created our own obstacle course to zoom around like Zog, the Knight & Princess Pearl did while helping creatures. Inside we played with the small world police station & used our fine motor control to build & balance with the wooden shapes.
Spring 1 Week 2
This week, we have used the text 'Emergency' to develop our understanding of 'heroes' & the emergency services. We have explored different types of emergency & the various services that could help. We have looked carefully at the number 9, acted out different emergencies, done some outdoor 'fire training' & used our fine motor skills to put out 'fires'.
Spring 1 Week 1
This week, we have started exploring the theme Heroes, using the emergency services as a starting point for learning. We have role played being doctors, paramedics, fire fighters & police officers, used 2d shapes to create our own emergency vehicle & shared some non fiction texts about the emergency services.
