Summer 2

Our final week

Wow! What a fantastic week we have had. We loved our trip to the Butterfly House. We saw lots of animals and many types of butterfly! It was a very warm day, but we were in the right place. It was nice a shady and we were well prepared. We played with the squirting dinosaurs, saw farm animals, had a couple of fun sessions with Paul and enjoyed eating our lunch. We had a great day!

In this warm weather, we enjoyed a cool and calm P.E session. We loved having a mat all to ourselves and lots of space to do our cosmic kids yoga.

I can’t believe it’s nearly time to say goodbye. Caterpillars, you have been gorgeous. Mrs Bracken and I will miss you a lot. We look forward to seeing you when you are in Year 1.

Week 4

We have had a great time this week. From completing The Sock Olympics, completing our Eric Carle art and a transportation P.E lesson! The Caterpillars are amazing.

We had a go at painting like Eric Carle last week. When it was dry, we have been busy cutting and sticking. We have based our art around The Tiny Seed by Eric Carle.

During The Sock Olympics, we have been talking about distance. We have been able to use different language to describe where the socks landed. You could always have a go at home!

I can't believe how fast this year has gone! Not long before these gorgeous Caterpillars become beautiful butterflies as they go to Year 1.

Week 3

We have started our Eric Carle project this week. It is based on The Tiny Seed.

We can't wait to show you what we create. We are looking carefully at how Eric created the textures and patterns in his artwork and illustrations.

Science experiment this week!

This week we have started a science experiment. We made predictions about how some cress seeds would grow in different conditions. What do you think will happen in each condition and why?

I'm excited to see what will have happened when I come to Caterpillars next Tuesday! Don't forget to water the right ones this week!

Week 1 & 2

We have had great couple of weeks in Caterpillars. In our Science lessons this week, we have started our new topic, which is plants. After some great discussion on the carpet, we went on a nature walk around the school grounds. The children were able to spot and name many different plants.

We have said goodbye to our tadpoles. They have gone back to Mrs Bracken's pond. We had such a great time watching them change and grow. We named one of the Bruno. We hope they come back next year.

Thank you for coming to our Cohort Assembly. We can't wait to see if your plants grow. You can send us some pictures on Tapestry. We have also done lots of planting in class. We have planted lettuce seeds and are hoping to eat it before the school year finishes.
