Super Spellings 15th June

First of all a big well done to all the Whizzy Workers who have completed the spelling activities.  Here are some of the examples of their work - keep it up Fantastic Foxes!

We are continuing to learn about the suffix '-ous'.   This week, we are learning to add this suffix to words ending in 'y'.  Take a look at the slide show which demonstrates the rule with this group of words.  This week the activities include a 'Which Word Where' acitivity which will help you to understand the meanings of the words. For this you may need a dictionary.  If you have a dictionary at home you can use that or you could use this online dictionary.  Try to spend 10 minutes a day using the activities to learn your spelling and then ask someone in your household to test you on Friday.  Thank you for sharing your work - we love to see what you've been doing at home! Super Spellings week beginning 8th June

 This week we are continuing to learn about the suffix '-ous' when there is no change to the root word. This week the activities include a crossword which will help you understand the meanings of the words. For this you may need a dictionary.  If you have a dictionary at home you can use that or you could use this online dictionary.  Try to spend 10 minutes a day using the activities to learn your spelling and then ask someone in your household to test you on Friday.  Please spend a minute to filling out this form to give your feedback and upload any of your work. Super Spellings week beginning 1st June

 Last term in our spellings we focused on adding prefixes to words. This term we are focusing on adding suffixes to words. Can you remember what this means? A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a root word that creates a new word with a different meaning. This week we are looking at words that end  with the sound 'er' spelt 'ar' and 'er'. read through the words on the spelling list.  You can also use a dictionary to look up the meaning of any unknown words. If you have a dictionary at home you can use that or you could use this online dictionary. This week the acitivities include a word search, a handwriting sheet and a cloze activity.  You don't need to print these out -  you can look at them on a screen and use paper or a pad to complete the tasks. Try to spend 10 minutes a day using the activities to learn your spelling and then ask someone in your household to test you on Friday. This week, our spelling words have the prefix 'ex' which often means 'out'. Have a look at the word list and the pictures that are linked to each word.  You can also use a dictionary to look up the meaning of any unknown words. If you have a dictionary at home you can use that or you could use this online dictionary. This week there is a word search, a handwriting sheet and a 'crack the code' activity for you to have a go at.  You don't need to print these out -  you can look at them on a screen and use paper or a pad to complete the tasks. Try to spend 10 minutes a day using the activities to learn your spelling and then ask someone in your household to test you on Friday. Hello Fantastic Foxes. Here are your spellings for this week. The words all have the prefix 'anti' - meaning 'against'. There's a bingo game you can have a go at or you could just use this to match the pictures to your spelling words. Super Spellings Week Beginning 20th April

Hello Fantastic Foxes! This week's spellings are words that contain the prefix 'inter'.  Have a look at the slides then have a go at some of the activities. There's a word search, a game and some handwriting practice.  If you can, try to do 10 minutes practice each day then get someone in your household to test you on these spellings on Friday (just like Miss Kendall does in school).
