Good morning Y2s! I hope you are all doing ok. Today is the last day of The Yeti and the Bird write and you have worked so hard. We need to now look at our first draft with fresh eyes and edit and improve it like all the great writers. Please watch this video to see how to go through your work carefully to spot errors and pick out where to make your writing even better!

Y2 Edit and Improve Writing 19.1.21

Once you have edited your first draft, please write it as a final draft in your finest handwritng. You might want to add illustrations (pictures) and make it into a book!

My example. Please upload your photos to join this one!

Wow! Wonderful Walkley work everyone. You should all be so proud of yourselves. I see brilliant spelling of words such as "scariest", excellent editing and complex sentences using "because" and "so". This is quite simply brilliant.

Damon has produced a chapter of a story called Simpkin and the motorbike on a pdf. You have used excellent punctuation such as speech marks and wonderful illustrations. Bravo!

Here is an example of a Fact File and a piece of talk for writing for an introduction on the Great White Shark. Let's see what you come up with!

Great fact posters and talk 4 writing practise. A key point to watch out for is using the correct "their" or "there". Please see below.

Thursday the 21st of January 2021

Today we are going to do some talk for writing. We are going to study an Octopus information text. The more we learn the Octopus text, the easier it will be for us to write our shark information text because we can magpie many ideas and sentence structures.

Please have a look at my example of drawing pictures to help me remember the text. Remember, you do not need to draw a picture for each word and these drawings are to help you so don't worry, this is not an art lesson!
