This week, Varjak meets the first cat that is not a member of the Paw family, as he takes shelter in a hut during a violent storm. He is cold, wet and covered in filthy slime.

We've now met our new character - what do you think of her? I wonder what role she is going to play as the story progresses. My first impressions are that she doesn't seem very friendly towards Varjak.
