Week Beginning 8th February 2021

Rainbows!

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all well and looking forward to the half term holiday.

I understand that you have been printing with your Fruits and Vegetables to create a rainbow with Miss Hill and Miss Baron. So, I have a couple of science activities for you this week both related to rainbows.

I hope you enjoy them.

Now, do you know why Fruits and Veggies are so super?

Here's a little Video that will explain why for you.

Show younger children why eating their fruit and veg is good for them

Fruit and vegetables contain some very important nutrients that our bodies need, including vitamins, minerals and fibre. This video is for children aged 5-7 ...

Did you see all the lovely colours?

Here is a challenge for you for over the holidays.

Can you....

EAT a Rainbow?

Here's what to do:

  • Either, print off or draw a rainbow shape
  • Each time you eat a fruit or vegetable, draw a picture of it in the correct colour band. For example if I eat a Banana, draw it in the yellow band and colour it ... YELLOW!

By the end of the week see if you can have eaten something of each colour or as many different colours as you can.

You could even have a competition with your grown

  • Who can eat the most of one colour
  • Who can eat the most different colours!

Don't forget to send in your pictures so that I can see all the yummy healthy things you've been eating.
