Wednesday 3rd February

Activity 1:

Hello lovely Aslans. Today, I would like you to use your refined retrieval skills to work your way through the question below...

You can upload a photo of your whizzy work by clicking HERE.

Just for fun!

"She sells sea shells by the sea shore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells. So if she sells shells on the seashore, I'm sure she sells seashore shells."

You've likely heard this tongue twister — and possibly just attempted to read it aloud! - but did you know that this was inspired by Mary Anning?*

Why not have a go at recording yourself saying the tongue twister and send in your video just for fun!

Teacher Challenge! - I have also set this tongue twister challenge to all the grown ups from school! Watch this space...

You can upload your video by clicking HERE. Failed attempts encouraged!!

* Thanks for the idea Thea!

Thursday 4th February

Activity 2

Today's activity will give you chance to practise your impressive inference skills! Watch the video below and try to put yourself in Mary Anning's shoes. Then, have a go at the activities below.

You can upload a photo of your whizzy work and your tongue twister video by clicking HERE.

Friday 5th February

Activity 3:

For our final activity this week, we will need to combine our retrieval and summarising skills in order to create a fact file all about the amazing Mary Anning.

Watch this clever animation created using sand and stones to refresh your memories...

There is a template below, which you can print or copy but please feel free to get creative and present your fact file however you would like to! You could draw your fact file by hand, type your information on the computer or even take inspiration from today's animation and present your facts using sand and stones?!
You can upload a photo of your whizzy work and your tongue twister video by clicking HERE.

* Tongue Twister Challenge *

Thank you for all the brilliant videos sent in so far - it's lovely to see a few more of your smiling faces!

If you haven't sent in your video yet but would like to, you have until 5PM* today (*Extended!) (Miss Kendall has some videos for me from the children who have been in school today!)

Let's see if we can beat the teachers by getting more Aslans videos than teacher videos!

Grown ups - you are more than welcome to give it a go too!

I will put all your videos together and share them here shortly after!

I would love to know what you've thought of this week's guided reading....
