Friday 1st December
2.30-4.30pm in Tennyson Building
Hi everyone,
Thank you to all who came along to the Table Top Sale, and for the helpers and sellers!
We are looking forward to a great afternoon for the Christmas Fair! There are a few ways you can help before and on the day, as well as coming along to enjoy yourselves!
Can you bring any of the following into school?
Can you help on the day?
Ho Ho Ho…. Merry Christmas!!!
Friends of Walkley Primary School
********* Coming soon *****************************************************************************
Your children have designed Christmas cards which will be available to order and printed professionally by a company who do Christmas cards for schools. Order forms will come out soon and there will be quick turn around for Christmas so look out for them! All profits go to the school.
The Y6s took part in an indoor athletics competition on Friday, excelling in the track races. Walkley pupils raced with determination and speed, winning many of the individual and team races.
Congratulations Y6 on a fabulous effort.
The Fantastic Foxes and Aslans learnt all about how volcanoes are formed; creating their own eruptions with baking soda and vinegar. They looked at different metals, what happens to metal when it gets hot and they got a little wet when experimenting with water in the water room!
Thanks for such an exciting, informative and enlightening day.

We were treated to a fantastic day out yesterday at Warwick Castle with the fabulous Year 4s. Setting off from school with an early start of 8.30am the children chatted and played Top Trumps (Monarchy Version) on the coach on the way to the castle. We arrived just after 10.30am and headed for the imposing castle entrance. we walked, via the main courtyard, to the bank opposite the magnificent Warwick Castle Trebuchet and watched the Trebuchet Show whilst having lunch. Then we set off for the King Maker and Time Tower Attractions before watching the first of two Bird of Prey Displays. This was particularly exciting, as powerful yet agile predators flew within inches of our heads, in a show of menacingly beautiful falconry.
The trip wouldn’t have been complete without a walk along the castle ramparts and up high into Guy’s Tower where we could view the castle from up high and see the snaking proximity of the Avon river.
The children had a brilliant time and even though the journey home was unexpectedly long and frustrating, the children remained upbeat having had a day to remember.
Well done to the staff on the trip and all the staff in school who along with our patient Year 4 parents ensured the children will have memories to cherish forever.
Thank you all so much for your fundraising efforts this week. On Wednesday we had our Harvest Assembly and all children and staff were invited to wear blue for the day (not necessarily school uniform)!

This fantastic charity helps those in desperate poverty to have access to a proper latrine, clean water and the information they need to be healthy. Our donation of £304.35 enables us to be twinned with some toilets that have been built in an area of poverty to improve the life of all those living there.
For just a £60 donation we can twin our loo with an impoverished family’s household latrine. For a £240 donation, we will be able to twin with a school block or a block of toilets in a displacement camp. A donation of over £300 means we can now make a real difference to the lives of whole communities.
Congratulations and thanks for your generosity and support.
