Y6 School Council Trip to Merrychef

On the last day of half-term, the Y6 School Council members, alongside Mr. Wallis and Mr. Clements, were invited to a VIP trip to Merrychef. The visit recognises Merrychef’s ongoing support for Walkley Primary School over the last 10 years and provides an opportunity to celebrate that relationship with pupils and staff. The trip helped the children to understand how a local Sheffield-based manufacturer contributes to food service innovation, practical engineering, teamwork and future career pathways. The visit involved a factory detective challenge, creative drawing, site tour, production demonstrations and an interactive lunch experience. Paul and the team at Merrychef made the children feel very VIP, and they received lots of treats throughout the day. On returning to school, Mr Wallis overheard one of the pupils saying “best day ever” as they headed up the stairs. It was a fun day and such a great effort from all the team at Merrychef!
