In English this week we have continued to read Pattan’s Pumpkin. We worked with partners to make a freeze frame of how they would be feeling in the story and talked to our partner about their feelings. What was your freeze frame?
In PE we have continued our throwing and catching skills both on our own and with a partner. We practiced our jumping and hopping skills from last term in our warm ups. Can you practise throwing and catching at home?
In History we have been finishing off learning about Guy Fawkes and the events of the gunpowder plot. We know about Guy Fawkes, King James I and how the plot was foiled. We know that in the UK we celebrate the failure of the gunpowder plot on the 5th November each year.
We had our lovely reading buddies to read with us!
In maths this week we have continued our work with 2D and 3D shapes by using them to make repeating patterns. Can you make a pattern at home and explain it?

We’ve had a great Children in Need day today. The school council came to read to us and sell merchandise. We had a big go at Hula hooping for our sponsored events. Mr Murphy played the guess the voices game and got 19/28 right with some tricky trickers tricking him!
We had a great time with our beauty and the beast panto this morning. Children were excellent and joined in brilliantly.
We had a great time in a soggy forest school today. We made a “fire” with the yellow leaves and tried to cook some food for our hungry teachers.
The year 6 school council popped by to raise money for children in need.
In forest school we did our maths lesson. We had to make a grid from twigs and make the columns and rows each add up to ten using leaves. Can you write this at home?

In history we explored the past. We wondered who the oldest person we know is and we wondered about the phrase “n the olden days”
DT- we were doing a skills lesson this week which was lots of fun! We practised careful and safe scissor skills, we had a challenge to make a robot or animal stand on its own legs using junk modelling/mobilo/lego/blocks. We discussed the best ways to make our model stable and which resources were easier or harder to do this.
We have loved forest school this week! Today we had a pet alien which we had to build a home for. We discussed what kind of geographical environment they were in, was your alien at the beach/mountain//sea/forest/town/city/river?
Reading Buddies. Today our reading buddies from the Chayas in Year 4 came and listened to us read our Read Write Inc Books. They then chose a book to read to us. They were amazing and we loved having them in our class!
