Chair of Governors

In October 2018, Andy Wilcock was elected as the new Chair of Governors.

'The role of Governors is to make sure that objectives are met and that planning for the future is both aspirational and realistic.  We are here to support and encourage the Head Teacher, Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff as a ‘critical friend’ to maintain our commitment to achieving the highest standards of education. I believe that Walkley School makes a uniquely, positive contribution to our wider community.' Parent Governor Vacancies - Summer Term 2023 (For Appointment in September 2023-24).

We have appointed 3 Parent Governors to the WPS Governing Body. We welcome Catherine Hathaway, Fiona Thevasagayam and Nicola Wiltshire as Parent Governors. They bring qualities, experience and expertise to the Board that will compliment the experienced Governors already in office. They have demonstrated their desire to work with the Senior Leadership Team in school to help shape and guide the progress of Walkley Primary School in the days, months and years to come.
