This page has been created for parents and children to help you access and use Google Classroom, our online learning platform for Years 1 - 6.
We would suggest that after accessing your child's classroom, you and your child familiarise yourself with the platform together. This is where teachers will set home learning and send messages within the class stream.
There will be a range of 'assignments' posted and some of the tasks can be uploaded/completed online for the teacher to view.
Tasks (assignments) for the children to complete will be posted on a weekly basis. If you miss any, do not worry as they remain in the classroom.
Please regularly discuss online safety with your children. Our Online Safety page has lots of advice and there are a number of useful documents to support conversations with your children. Take time to look at the work undertaken by Walkley pupils on the PSHE and online safety section of our website. Walkley pupils have a wealth of knowledge regarding a safe digital diet, investigating issues such as:
'We all want to use our devices, play our video games, watch TV and DVDs but what happens when it starts to affect our health? Particularly our mental health and well-being? What can people do to maintain a healthy balance to support their desire for screen time?
If you have any problems with accessing or using Google Classroom, then please email enquiries@walkley.sheffield.sch.uk and we will respond as soon as we can.
