This week (10 th – 14 th November) marks National Anti-Bullying week, with a theme this
year of ‘Power of Good’ and ‘Wear Odd Socks’ Day will be part of this week.
Odd Socks Day is designed to be fun! It’s an opportunity to encourage people to express
themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique. There is no
pressure to wear the latest fashion or to buy expensive costumes. All you have to do to
take part is wear odd socks to school, it couldn’t be simpler.
Throughout this week, children will be having assemblies and taking part in activities
related to Anti Bullying Week with a specific link to our Walkley school values. This
morning’s assembly was about the power of push-ups and the dangers of push-downs.
Our children shared today that push-ups make them feel warm, proud, less self-
conscious, happy and respected, cared for, lucky, included and gave them a spark inside! A
great start to the week. Looking forward to seeing your socks on Wednesday.
