Week 6
In our Geography lessons, we have been studying the taiga biome. The children had to compare the taiga to the deciduous forest biome ( where we live). They created a vent diagram to show how the biomes were the same or different.
Week 5
Earlier this week, the Charlies finished their sculptures by adding some final decorations. Here are some images of the process...
We also had a visit from the lovely people of Kings Camps, who led us in some playground games. It was a dampish morning, but lots of fun was had!
Week 4
This week we went on a Geography field trip to the Rivelin valley. The aim was to see if the velocity of the water was greater nearer the source than further downstream. The children dropped dog biscuits in the river at two bridges and used an i pad to measure how fast the biscuit travelled over five metres. We then enjoyed our lunch on the grass before heading back to school.
Week 3
A big thank you to all the grown ups that turned up for the Year 4 Showcase Assembly this week. It was wonderful to see the children performing with such confidence for you.
On Tuesday afternoon, we went on a teddy bears picnic to Tennyson field. We had a great time! See below for evidence! Even Mr Rist brought his teddy bear in !
Week 1
In Maths, the children have been comparing decimal numbers and explaining which number is bigger or smaller.
