How we Assess Religious Education at Walkley
Assessment is predominately whole class discussion based, with key children targeted to ascertain their knowledge and understanding. These discussions take place throughout the unit in order to identify and address gaps. Any gaps will be addressed later in the learning sequence or revisited in future units, particularly skills gaps.
Key Stage two pupils will predominantly capture their learning in individual work books. Where learning is evidenced in books, 'Remember To' statements will identify the key steps of learning in the lesson. Pupils will self-assess against these 'Remember To's and staff will mark the pupils work indicating their agreement with the pupil’s own self-assessment.
