We started our new topic in Science which is all about the properties of materials. We investigated which material would make the best chopping board. We investigated which material would not mark easily, be durable, would not absorb water and would be easy to wipe clean. we found that card and wax would not be suitable materials but metal and plastic were much more durable.

Weston Park Museum- a trip to the museum! To enhance our history topic of the Ancient Egyptians the Year 5s shared their knowledge, saw some artefacts and learned more interesting facts about Egypt!

We have started our new geography topic: the commonwealth!

It's the second biggest inter-country organisation about after the United Nations, with a third of people in the world living in it. How much do you know about the organisation and what it does? BBC What's New and BBC Actu Jeunes are the BBC's first bilingual programmes for teenagers, brought to you by the BBC World Service to discuss important issues for young people across Africa.

Geography - The children compared the UK to India. They looked at both human and physical geography when making these comparisons.
