Autumn 2 World at War
- Week 1 -
In English, we have been exploring the 'The Piano' by Aidan Gibbons. After listening to the soundtrack and discussing how the music made us feel, we examined a series of items belonging to the main character in order to make predictions about the narrative. After watching the animation, we gathered the information learnt about this character through his contrasting flashbacks. We are looking forward to writing our own versions of this narrative focusing on carefully selecting language to describe the character and the settings.

We have also revised using relative clauses in our writing and using semi-colons to replace the coordinating conjunctions 'and' and 'but'. We enjoyed watching George explains.
In Guided Reading, we have been exploring the story of Anne Frank through her world-famous diary entries.
