We have had an amazing, fun & tiring last week of term. The Elmer class Christmas party was wonderful & it was very special to have so many Elmer children together at one time. Thank you to all our fabulous parents for donating party snacks & to our fantastic volunteers who gave up their afternoon to make our party possible.
This week we have also been very busy making play dough snowmen, foamy Christmas trees, reindeer food, baubles for our tree & decorating paper trees with buttons...
On Thursday morning we made a special visit to see Father Christmas & received a present for our class to enjoy....

We were so proud of Elmer class this week as we performed our Nativity play with F2 for fellow pupils and grown ups. They were amazing, despite nerves, everyone was very brave and joined in with the singing & dancing. The Elmer stars shone brightly for their rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Thank you to all the grown ups who came along to support us, we really appreciate it.

Parents were invited to 'Stay & Play' & enjoyed making hand print angels, creating Christmas trees, assembling paper chains to decorate the classroom & reading Christmas stories. We also pretended to be fire fighters, using our 'water hoses' to put out fires in nursery. Elmer class have been working with water this week to explore & observe it's effect on different materials & objects.
Children in Need (Week 2)
During Children in Need, Elmer class wore their bear ears, coloured & decorated Pudsey pictures, listened to stories about Pudsey Bear, collected money to place on a giant Pudsey picture & show cased their dance moves in the hall with the Y6 leaders.
Firework Fun & Caring for pets
(Week 1)
We have been sharing our experiences of fireworks, we have looked at how different cultures use fireworks as part of many celebrations. We created splatter paint fireworks (in the style of Jackson Pollock), 3D rockets & chocolate sparklers.
As part of our theme 'Heroes', we have set up a vet surgery in Elmer class. The children have been caring for sick & injured pets, by checking their temperature, listening to chests with stethoscopes & bandaging wounds. Some children have been helping others by answering the phone & writing appointments.
