Dear Parents and Carers,
I have had to make the very difficult decision to close the school today. The heavy snowfall overnight and this morning aligned with the freezing temperatures has made it too difficult and dangerous for many staff and families to get to school and possibly back home from school with the potential of icy roads.
We did consider a later start time but I couldn’t guarantee that even by later in the day, we would have sufficient staff able to be in school to run the school safely for our pupils.
We need to make the most of every school day so I have asked teachers to set home learning for children based on what they think children can best do at home. It will be a lighter day than normal and there should be ample time to play in the snow too. Work set by class teachers will be available on your child's Google classroom or Tapestry from 9:30am.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience the school closure may cause you but I hope you appreciate that the decision was made in the best interests of the whole school community. Thank you.
