Forest School
What a great time, we had a Forest School! We used little figures and tried to create different landscapes with them.
Next, we used our map skills. We took an object and hid it, then we asked our partner to find it and mark where they found it on a map.
Star Group
We made freeze frames from the story 'Shark Lady'. Then, we tried to guess what page the freeze frame was from.
World Book Day
We had a fabulous day, take at look at all our amazing costumes.
We made our own books and then shared them with each other.
The Y5 children came to our class and we read some books with them.
To finish our fantastic day, we read books and ate our snacks at the Reading Book Cafe.
RE
We learnt about the Easter story. We went outside and looked at items from the Easter story and then we acted some parts out.
We learnt about how Christians celebrate Easter at church. Then we had our own celebration too. We ate hot cross buns, ate some mini eggs, decorated a cross and made some Easter cards.
Computing
We have started learning about robots and algorithms. We discussed how computers follow instructions. We went outside and pretended to be robots following instructions.
We played with the Bee bots and tried to get them to move around the big map. Other children played on the Bee bot app and tried to get the Bee bot to move on the iPad. Then, we swapped over so everyone got a go at both activities.
We made our own maps and then programmed the Bee Bots to move around. After, we made some road blocks so we had to programme the Bee Bots to go around them.
This time, we picked instructions out of a envelope and programmed the that into the Bee bots. Then, we predicted where it would stop.
English
We are reading the story The Day the Crayons Quit. We acted out the emotions of the crayons, while people guessed which crayon we were.
We wrote our speeches in the style of Malala from the book 'Malala's Pencil'. Then, we performed them to the class.
DT
We looked at some hand puppets and started to design our own.
We made a prototype of our glove puppet.
We practised sewing. We tried a running stich and an over stich.
