The Year 5 Sun Kings have worked really hard to develop their Space Dance over the last half term. The children worked in groups to choreograph group sections of the dance. They learned how to combine lifts in to the dance which you will see were very successful and solo elements. Well done Sun Kings, you should be really proud of your routines.
Magna visit, Tuesday 4th June 2024
Good afternoon, wonderful Y5!
We've had a reminder from our lovely office staff that today is the deadline for ordering a school packed lunch for the trip to Magna after the half term holiday - there are, apparently, 40 outstanding responses...
As the sun is shining, and we're all in a good mood, the deadline has been extended until this coming Monday, 20th May. If you need a school packed lunch and have not yet responded, you will need to let the office know before the end of Monday please. Thank you!
Have a great weekend,
The Year 5 Team.
Forest School
This week, the Sun Kings have had the pleasure of venturing into Forest School, avoiding the worst of the weather (we only got 'slightly damp'!)
On Tuesday we surveyed the Forest School area and produced a visitor map, so that people know what's where. Very useful. We even found a frog! (Its location is not on the maps, to keep it safe...)
On Thursday, we took our Guided Reading outside and made some 'freeze-frames' depicting scenes from our current story, 'The Purple Lady' (the second story in the Blackberry Blue collection of short stories by Jamila Gavin. In this tale, Abu is willed to find his long lost sister but has to endure physical and emotion turmoil to get to the end of his quest. He also has the dilemma of wondering who he should really trust on his journey and if those people guiding him have other ulterior motives.) It's well worth a read!
