Summer 1

Science

We did a demonstration to show the digestive process from start to end! We had great fun modelling what happens at each stage, especially the end!!

Science

We had some very special visitors from Amaze Labs. The Chayas were lucky enough to take part in a slime making workshop. The children were amazing and made some incredibly stretchy slime!

Science

We are learning all about our bodies. This week we started to learn about our digestive systems. We tried to label and place our digestive organs.

~ Week 1~

What a busy start to our summer term! This week in maths we carried on thinking about decimals and what happens to numbers on a place value grid when we divide by ten.

Forest school

We had a great time in forest school this week! In the first session we created nature rubbings using oil pastels. We discussed how to layer textures and colours. We also started reading one of our new Red Reads!

Nature rubbings

In maths we used place value counters to show tenths and wrote them as decimals on our whiteboards. It was great to see lots of fabulous partner work!

In forest school we designed an Anglo Saxon shield and wrote a message in the Anglo Saxon runic alphabet for a friend to guess!

We started our new PE topic - Tag Rugby! We learnt that rugby is an invasion game and how to pass the rugby ball.

In forest school we made our own sculptures using natural materials. We made them to represent the human form, linking to our art topic!

~ Week 2 ~

We have been comparing decimals using "greater than", "less than" and "equal to." We played a game to reinforce our understanding and had fun!
