Summer 1

Forest School

We used our measuring skills to measure different objects in the forest school area. We used the iPads and looked for signs of Summer.

We had a game of kick rounders. We also did a traffic survey and made some bug hotels.

School Trip

We went to the Madina Mosque. On our tour, we saw the beautiful patterns on the floors, the room where people do wudu, the library and finally the prayer room. It was a fabulous tour, which we all enjoyed.

P.E - Athletics

LO: To develop jumping further

We learnt that bending our legs and using how arms would help us to make us go further.

Athletics - LO: to develop throwing for distance

We used beanbags and learnt that we use the overarm throw to throw for distance. We learnt to stand sidewards on and to place our opposite leg forward to our throwing arm.

Yoga - To understand what flexibility is, how it helps my body and how I can improve it through yoga.

We learnt how to breathe to calm our minds. Then, we practised different yoga poses and used our breathing to help us hold them for longer.

LO: To create, perform and teach a flow to a partner

In this session, we learnt desert yoga poses. We performed them to our partner who then mirrored the poses.

Music

We played the glockenspiels to the song I want to be in a band.

Computing

We used the programme Scratch Jr. We made a sprite move in different directions.

We used our plans and made on quiz on scratch junior.

Design and Technology

We picked two pieces of fabric and then we used a needle stitch them together.

English

We learnt what a command, a question and a statement was. Then, we cut up sentences and placed under the correct heading.

We read the book The Tortoise and the Hare. After, we read the story we acted it out. One person was the Harry the Hare, another was Tom Tortoise and 2 other people were the Harry the Hare's friends.
