Summer 1 Week 6
We have had a wonderful time preparing for the jubilee in Elmer class, finishing with our jubilee celebration on Friday afternoon. We created our own bunting, flags & festive pictures. On Friday, we made crowns to wear on the whole school parade, had a dance party & enjoyed a lovely cream tea picnic whilst watching the cheerleaders perform.
Summer 1 Week 5
This week we have been sharing the story Spinderella, finding out about spiders and looking at the number 8. Our story this week talks a lot about numbers, so we’ve been doing lots of counting and recognising significant numbers. We’ve put our creative skills to good use making 3D spiders and silvery webs, as well as creating our own ‘loose parts’ arachnids.
Summer 1 Week 4
We have had a lovely day celebrating Eid, we coloured Eid pictures, learnt a dance, found out how some families celebrate Eid, took part in an Eid themed treasure hunt & had a dance party in the hall with F2.
Summer 1 Week 3
This week, we have been to forest school & moved like mini beasts, went on a bug hunt & dug for worms, made bug cafes & painted with mud.
Summer1 Week 2
This week, we’ve been sharing the story The Crunching Munching Caterpillar & learning about the life cycle of butterflies. We’ve printed our own caterpillars, made chain caterpillars & decorated butterflies. We also used the outdoor area to make a large scale caterpillar.
Welcome back to the summer term!
This half term, we are off on another Amazing Adventure, using Minibeasts as a starting point for learning.
Summer 1 Week 1
This week we have been sharing the story Mad About Minibeasts. We've then found out a few facts about some of our favourite beasts from the text. As the weather has been warmer, we've spent time outdoors hunting for minibeasts & planting out our marigold seedlings. We've spent a lot of time looking after our garden by weeding & watering the plants.
