Summer 1 Equality for All

- Week 1 -

"Will you walk into my parlour?" said the spider to the fly;
 'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy."

In English, we have been exploring the poem 'The Spider and the Fly' by Mary Howitt - a cautionary tale against those who use flattery and charm to disguise their true intentions. We will be rewriting the poem in narrative form, using dialogue to advance the action and convey the two contrasting characters.

- Week 2 -

Wow! What a performance. A huge well done to all our Y5s and 6s who took part in the dance show. Not only did you look like professionals, but you were all so enthusiastic, happy, and smiley while performing. You made Walkley proud! Thank you, parents, for joining us - I hope you feel just as proud!

-Week 5-

We are so very proud of all our Year 6s this week. Every one of you has worked your hardest in the SATs and been supportive of each other. You have had such a calm, composed attitude all week long. Thank you for being so amazing! You deserved some fun in the sun this afternoon.

- Week 6 -

A huge well done to our advanced cheerleaders as they performed their final routine to all KS2 children and parents this week. Thank you Amy, for all your hard work and brilliant routines taught to our wonderful cheerleaders. Coming up, at the Summer Fair will be the last chance for our Y6s to practice their Walkley routine!

The Year 6 children are all visiting Wagamamas this week as an end of SATs treat. All children get the chance to make a smoothie and design their own rice or noodle based dish. All children demonstrated wonderful Walkley behaviour and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. What a lovely end to the half term!
