Summer 2

End-of-year Treat

What an absolutley amazing group of Y6s we have had this year. You have been a pleasure to teach and we thought that you deserved a reward: bowling.

Crucial Crew

The Y6s have had the fantastic opportunity to visit Crucial Crew in Rotherham. There, they learned about a range of vital life-skills such as keeping safe and the law. Through road, fire and water safety scenarios, children practised what to do in the case of an emergency. Children also learned about the justice system, including scenarioes involving a crime scene investigate and a magistrates court.

Forest School. The Kensukes have enjoyed getting creative and made wind chimes in Forest School this afternoon.

Forest School

We had a fabulous science session in forest school this week.  Using the Woodland Trust app on the ipads, we classified different trees in the area by carefully observing the bark, leaves, fruit and branches.  We also explored the area to discover other species of plants and animals that live in our forest school environment.  Finally, we spent time observing the plants and trees and carefully sketched to create botanical drawings as scientists of the past would have done!

The Kensukes have been lucky enough to attend a science session at King Edwards School led by one of their science teachers. Our session was on Electricity. We experimented with static electricity and then had a chance to build our own series and parallel circuits!
