Summer 2

Week 4

The children did a great job on their collages. We cut, tore and placed newspaper, card, fabric and photos on paper to form portraits of inspirational people from the last 100 years. Great team work, resilience and colour work can be seen in these fine pieces!

The Hodgehegs performed brilliantly for their "Recorders Concert". Well done all for playing your A, B and G so well for great tunes like "Cool Cat." Thank you so much to Ms Fountain from the Sheffield Music Hub for teaching us this year.

Week 3

Week 2

In maths today we explored measuring mass by comparing the weight of different objects and then measuring items with cubes. Well done all for your clever thinking and teamwork.

Here is a fun clip which revises measuring in g and Kg!

In PE we practised volleyball skills in our "Wall and Net" topic. The children are getting much better at communicating with their team and passing balls into spaces.

Week 1

In art we are now making collages of inspirational historical figures. The children are doing a great job working in pairs or threes to use a variety of colour tones and textures to complete these fantastic pieces.

In PE, we are doing net and wall games. Today we played a game based on volleyball where the children had to pass to one another and then try and throw the ball over a "net" (cone barrier) and get it to bounce on the ground before the opposition team could touch it. The children developed their teamwork skills as well as their hand eye co-ordination.

On Fridays this term we are lucky to have Miss Burton teach us dance. We are studying oceans in geography this term so Miss Burton has choreographed a series of dances to tunes such as "Under the Sea" and the Moana soundtrack. Great energy and timing were on display today!
