During our trip to Magna Science Adventure Centre, the children were absolutely thrilled from the moment we arrived. Located in a converted steelworks, Magna offered an exciting mix of hands-on exhibits, interactive zones, and dramatic sensory experiences. The children especially loved exploring the four themed pavilions—Earth, Air, Fire, and Water—where they could dig for minerals, create tornadoes, play with fire simulations, and launch water jets. Their laughter and wide-eyed wonder filled every corner of the park as they learned through play and adventure. It was a truly unforgettable day that sparked their curiosity and left them eager to learn more about Science.
Y5 Cohort Assembly
Our Year 5 cohort assembly was a wonderful celebration of all the learning we’ve done this term, and we were so excited to share it with our parents and bring our work to life. From showcasing our English/Drama related projects to diary entries, and presentations, it was a fantastic opportunity to reflect on our hard work and creativity. Seeing so many parents in the audience made the day even more special, and we are incredibly grateful for the chance to share these moments with them. Opportunities like this help us grow in confidence and remind us how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive school community.
FOREST SCHOOL
Our DT unit this half term is textiles. In forest school, we used hitch knots and lashing to tie together frames using sticks, then used these frames to do some natural weaving! We were very impressed with the end results!
Arches Games
What an amazing day we had at the Arches Games! From splashing in the pool, to showing off our moves in Parkour, everyone gave it their all with a range of activities from golf, tag-rugby, cycling, boxing, basketball, stackcups and even cricket!
The sun was blazing, but that didn’t slow us down! A huge well done to all the children for giving their everything all day. You made us all proud with your teamwork, enthusiasm, and determination.
ROCKET LAUNCH
As part of our homework the children were asked to use a fizzy drink bottle to create a rocket to be launched in school!
