How we Assess Geography at Walkley
Where learning is evidenced in books, remember tos will identify the key steps of learning in the lesson. Pupils will self-assess against these remember tos and staff will mark the pupils work indicating their agreement with the pupil’s own self-assessment. Quiz questions will be used during the unit to assess what pupils have remembered, understood and know.
Geography learning is captured through a combination of work in books and photographic or video evidence on the class website pages. Key Stage two pupils will predominantly capture their learning in individual work books.
Class teachers will use this information to inform teacher assessments for each pupil. Teachers will also use observations and contributions during fieldwork, group work and class activities to inform their teacher assessments.
