Geography

Our vision for Geography in the Walkley curriculum is that children will develop lively, enquiring minds as we encourage pupils to become self-motivated, confident and capable in order to solve problems that will become an integral part of their future. Through Geography, we teach children how to observe, describe and seek explanations for why the world around us is as it is. Through quality teaching of Geography, children are encouraged to imagine possible global outcomes and seek out ways in which they can move towards a positive future. Geography helps students to think more intelligently about complicated and unresolved issues: global warming, international population movements, food security & where to build new homes. The subject is concerned with real world learning and making sense of the world in which we live.
