Week 8
We have been working really hard to finish our Frida Kahlo inspired portraits. We painted a moody background and then added detail to the forgrond. We can't wait to exhibit our paintings after the holidays.

Week 6
In Geography, we have been learning all about the climate in Mexico. We used plastercine to create the different topical zones and make clear maps showing the varying climates of Mexico.
Thank you to everyone that has been practising the songs for the winter production. The children are sounding amazing and I'm sure the show will be a roaring success!
We have had a great time experiementing with Chrome Music Lab. Have a go at home!
Week 5
What a brilliant week we have had! We have been learning all things Frida this week, starting with learning the song, 'In a World of Colour'. We read the song lyrics to help us learn the words fluently and then we used the green screen to record our performances. I'm sure you'll agree that ours is just as professional as the original!
In the Forest school we recreated some of Frida's portraits using natural materials. We then also immitated the artist's portraits by capturing natural backgrounds and exaggerated eyebrows!
Week 4
In Geography this week, we have got the atlases out and have been looking for the Spanish Speaking countries around the world.
In art, we have continued our artist study of Frida Kahlo. We looked at how Frida used colour to show her mood in her paintings and then we created our own moody backgrounds.
Week 3
To publish our amazing Sound Collector poems, we decided to create stop motion animations. We worked in teams and took our time and then recorded our poems over the animation.
In Art, we have started our Fabulous Frida paintings. This week, we looked at the colours that Frida Kahlo used in her artworks and leaerned how to mix different shades of greens and browns using powder paint. We added white to create tints and added black to create tone in our shades.

Week 1
We showcased our amazing art pieces this week and held a captivating cave art exhibition in our hall. We discovered the amazing pieces as we crept through the cave. It was an amazing afternoon!
In English we have started writing poems based on Roger McGough's Sound Collector. We learned the poem and performed it using actions.
