Thursday 11th February 2021

Today you are going to be writing your first drafts. Please watch the video and then use the remember tos and your box it up plan to help you write your first draft.

There is my example and a writing frame under the video if you need more support. Otherwise, write neatly on a lined piece of paper or in your book. We will edit and publish tomorrow.

You can upload pictures of your first draft here

Please complete the Google Quiz to evaluate and ask for any help that you might need

LO: to be able to write clearly to instruct the reader

I can remember to:

β˜…  Ask 2 questions to introduce the instructions

β˜…  Use fronted adverbials to order the steps for the reader (first, then, next…)

β˜…  Tell your reader what to do by using bossy, imperative verbs (put, get, take..)

β˜…  Extend detail with a sentence of 3 things

β˜…  Finish off with a warning

Some great first drafts, Aslans!

Today you are going to be editing your first drafts and then publishing your instructions. There is a video to help you edit and then there is an another video to help you create instructional booklets. If you find it tricky, there is a template under the video. Also, if it is too small when you use A4 paper, then use A3 or make two booklets and have part 1 and part 2.

You can upload pictures of your published instrutions here

Please complete the Google Quiz to answer a short quiz, evaluate this week's learning and ask for any help that you might need. Remember to leave the browswer open if you want to see my feedback.
