Bank Holiday Friday 8th May

Due to the bank holiday there will be no blog posts on the above date.

Blogging will resume on Monday 11th May.

Friday 1st May

Hello Year 6!

I have created a quick survey on google forms, I would really appreciate if you could take the time to fill in the survey (its only 4 questions!). We are going to be using these style of forms to get feedback from yourself on your online learning experience. This week I am interested in what lessons/tasks you have had a go at this week. Please be honest!

At the bottom of the form is an option for you to upload any examples of work, or anything you have been doing since leaving school- it does not have to be school related! It would be amazing to hear from you (hopefully I have set it up correctly!).

Click the link below to access the form:

Hello Y6. Apologies. There's been a bit of an issue with the google forms on the blog (Miss Travis hadn't clicked a button!) which has now been fixed.  You should be able to use any of the google forms on the blog so you can now upload your work.

Friday 24th April

Hi there Kensukes. Miss Travis here. I hope you're all keeping well and staying safe. We're all really missing seeing you in school.  It's a hard time for everyone - we've all got to try our hardest to be the best gold citizen we can possibly be.  Make sure you look after yourselves and the people around you as best you can.

I've put up a couple of maths lessons for you to have a go at this week. In one of them you can join me in making some flapjack with my daughter.  I know the group that worked with Miss Whitham recently made some delicious flapjack in the kitchen at school. The wonderful smell of it cooking was enough to make me very hungry!

We're trialing google forms at the moment which is a way you can feedback to us and share your thoughts, ideas and any work you've been doing.  The link is in the maths area of the homelearning section of this blog.

Bye for now! Have a good weekend and watch out for more resources next week.

Hello Kensukes!

Just a message to say I hope you all have a great Easter holidays. Make the most of this time spent with your families, be kind to each other and keep everyone's spirits high in your household! I personally have been doing lots of home workouts, cycling and also using my time to learn Spanish!

Whilst it is the holidays, there will be no blog posts from myself or any other Walkley teacher. The next blog post will be on Tuesday 14th April.

If you wish to continue independent learning you can use the below links.

Remember, any subject you fancy revising- from history to maths, art to science- type into google or youtube with the words "ks2" or "primary school" after it and you will find lots of helpful websites to use.

Have a wonderful holiday, stay safe.

From Mr Williamson, Miss Travis and Miss Whittham

Hello everyone in Kensukes class,

We want you all to know that we are thinking of you and miss seeing you in school every day. None of us were expecting this to happen and we’re all having to adapt our lives; we need to try to keep our spirits high and remember that this is only temporary. Although we are not able to be in school, we want you to know that we are still here for you.  If you have any questions or you just want to get in touch, please ask your adult to contact us via the school email address: enquiries@walkley.sheffield.sch.uk.

Make sure you stay safe, keep active and check your class blog regularly so you can continue with your learning at home.  You can access the Lockdown Learning Log which has a range of activities for you to have a go at and there will be updates on your class blog, including regular maths lessons brought to you by the one and only Mr Williamson! There’s also a timetable with lots of ideas to help you organise your day while school is closed.  Keep in touch with your friends and family as much as you can on the phone or online, help out as much as you can with the chores at home, and try to get some fresh air everyday.

Miss Whitham loved her maternity card from those of you who were able to contribute to it last week. She especially liked the ‘Guess the Date and Weight’ and is looking forward to seeing who made the most accurate guess!

Be the Golden Citizen at home, be kind and caring, and try to stay positive.  We all look forward to the time when we can see you all again.

Love from Miss Travis, Mr Williamson and Miss Whitham
