On Friday 20th March, we played our part in fundraising for Red Nose Day. We had lots of fun during the day and we wanted to say a big thank you to all the children, staff and parents/carers for your efforts!
Walkley Primary School Council would like to announce that we raised a massive…£567.53!!!
The guess the name of the teddies was won by a Y5 child and a Fs2 child and the winning names were Sunny and Cycro.
A big well done to everyone and thank you for all your support in raising such a huge amount for an amazing cause.

Wishing all our Muslim families a very happy Eid.
This year, Walkley Primary School Eco Council took part in Keep Britain Tidy's campaign; Great Big School Clean. The campaign runs from 13th March until 29th March and Walkley Primary have pledged to collect 10 bags full of litter from around the school site.
Last week, the Eco Council completed extra litter picking duties and all pupils have been encouraged to take responsibility for their own litter to ensure the school environment is litter free.
We wanted as many pupils to take part in the Great Big School Clean so during an assembly we encouraged everyone to complete their own litter-picks with family and friends around their local community. Over the weekend, there were lots of Walkley litter-heroes, who chose to help take care of our environment by doing a litter-pick. Super Work!!
So far, the pupils at Walkley Primary School have collected 6 bags of litter!!!
A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all that have taken part and there is still time for you to get involved.
Keep up the hard work!
We were delighted to welcome author Bethan Woolvin to our school for a fantastic day celebrating books, creativity and storytelling. Children across all year groups took part in inspiring workshops linked to her take on Robin Hood. It was a memorable day that helped to bring reading to life at Walkley Primary School.

It's been a very busy day for the Year 4s in Castleton. They've undertaken a countryside trek, a trip down Treak Cliff Cavern, followed by Gem Panning. So exciting! Have a great time Y4. See you back in school tomorrow.
