• Harvest

  Today, Mr. and Mrs.Wilcock hosted our Harvest assembly in school. They shared with the children what harvest was and how it is a time to reflect and what we have, say thank you and think of other people. We focused on a school in Lebanon who Mr. Wilcock, alongside his church (Hampden View) , are supporting. As a school, we will be working with the children to produce art work, letters and information to represent life at Walkley Primary to share with the children in Lebanon. We look forward to sharing this work with Mr. Wilcock.

• Lovely to see you all this morning

  What a wonderful morning we have had today, with our Chameleon and Hungry Caterpillar pupils joining us for Golden Assembly for the first time. How beautifully behaved they were, a credit to themselves, their parents and staff.

   

  This morning we were joined by over 90 parents and carers, witnessing pupil achievements and sharing in the celebration of all our pupils' achievements.

   

  This afternoon it's the turn of our Key Stage 2 pupils. We look forward to seeing many more of you later today from 2:30pm.

• Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

  We are very sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II this afternoon.

  We appreciate this is likely to affect our community and our pupils in different ways and we know that some children may have lots of questions. Tomorrow, we will give time in class, with our staff on hand to answer questions and discuss any thoughts and feelings arising from this event.

   

• What a fabulous first week back at school

  It has been a wonderful week in school. Congratulations to all our pupils, you are definitely in the Learning Zone! Many thanks to our parents too for your support of the school as we establish the new school timetable and collection arrangements at the end of the school day. It's easy to forget that in our new school building there are still so many things that are new to us all; changing procedures, activities and events. 

   

  Also, thank you for your response to our request for adherence to the school code of dress. It is something we believe is important for our school community. If we can support parents with this request please let us know. We have a bank of pre-worn clothes left over from the Summer Fair stall that are ready for a new home.

   

  Tomorrow sees the return of Golden Awards Assembly and I cannot wait to share the successes of the children with you in the traditional Walkley way.
