• Red Nose Day at Walkley Primary

  A very big thank you to all our pupils, staff and parents for joining in the Red Nose Day fun and games and for raising money for a very worthwhile cause.

   

  Today the pupils have completed a timed obstacle course. In conjunction with the School Council staff have taken part in a limbo competition. With hilarious consequences.

   

  The all important heights that staff could limbo without touching the pole (the staff are rather competitive), were as follow:

• £150.95 Raised for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity

  During our World Book Day celebrations Walkley raised £150.95 for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity. The money raised supports specialist treatment from head to toe by funding life-saving equipment, new facilities, a comfortable environment and vital research which changes paediatric care for thousands of children.

• Walkley World Book Day and Charity Event for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity

  What an amazing day at Walkley. Children and staff have made such an effort dressing up today. Whether you were a character from a book or comfy in pyjamas, you all looked wonderful.

   

  In a special surprise for pupils, we took delivery of a delivery of books. Wow, and what a delivery. Back in October 2021, the children and their families raised over £1800 pounds! To this Usborne books added 60% funding for new books, which made a whopping £2900 for new books.

   

  In our World Book Day assembly this afternoon the children were delighted with the books and can't wait to get reading them. Congratulations everyone!

   

  The day finished with Jackanory time as teachers visited different classrooms to share a story.
