  • Stars in our School

Fri 26 Sep 2025 Mr Wallis

Today, we celebrate ‘Stars in our School’. It is National Teaching Assistant Day so we have taken this opportunity to celebrate all the staff at Walkley for the vital role you all play in shaping our children’s lives. Whether your work helps to keep the environment safe and clean for our pupils; ensure they are well fed and have a positive start to the day; support and teach our pupils equipping them with knowledge and skills for life; ensure communication between home and school is clear; ensure all our pupils feel safe and loved…it is an endless list that you all do with such dedication, passion and care.

Please wear the sticker with pride today to show everyone how amazing we know you all are. Try to take a moment to reflect on all you achieve every day and the impact you have. Maybe you could share with another member of staff what makes them a key ‘Star in our School’.

It takes every one of you to make Team Walkley. Thank you for all you do - we appreciate you all.

  • School Food Policy Update

Thu 18 Sep 2025 Mr Wallis

    Dear parents/carers

As we embark on our new school year, we feel it is important to revisit the policy on food in school. Here is the link to our policy: Walkley School Food Policy

Of particular importance is the safeguarding of our pupils with allergies that place them at increased risk of adverse reactions to certain food types and associated medical emergencies. For example, nut allergies. Your help with this is much appreciated. We are aware that pupils and parents like to bring food to share with their peers on birthdays and other special occasions; this is very kind. We just ask that the food is individually wrapped and that the ingredients are displayed on the packaging. Food presented in this way can be shared at the end of the day as pupils are released to parents. This way, parents can decide if the food is suitable for their child to have.

We also advise and promote healthy options for food in school, whether that be snacks, school dinners or packed lunches. For further information do please contact school.

    Many thanks
