• KS2 Sports Day on Wednesday 4th July

  We had a great time at Sports Day on Wednesday. although it was hot the children got really involved in the all the events. There was a range of activities as well as the traditional running races. Every child represented their house admirably. Now we excitedly await the result! Which of our houses, Loxley, Porter, Rivelin and Sheaf will win the top prize?

  Another fabulous event at Walkley. The pupils were so dedicated in the glorious sunshine. Shade was at a premium but endeavour certainly was not. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy (including the zumba warm up).

  This lunchtime the Y6s took to the quad garden to tend to the strawberries, beetroots and runner beans. With their attentive eyes and green fingers they continued the great work started by the Y5s who established the garden earlier this year.

• Getting Ready For The Summer Fayre

  We're all getting excited about the Summer Fayre on Saturday 7th July and after Golden Assembly, at the drop-in today, lots of our parents were busy wrapping prizes for the lucky dip stall. In assembly this morning, Friends of Walkley reminded the pupils and parents of what they can expect at the Fayre, including:

   

  A bouncy castle

  face painting

  sponge the teacher and custard pie the grown-up

  amazing raffle prizes

  the incredibly popular jar tombola

  Hotdogs, burgers, cakes and treats

  and even a real life fire engine!!

   

  We can't wait....but, Friends of Walkley estimate that we still need another 35 parents to help run all the stalls. CAN YOU HELP?

  We are so looking forward to it.
