Dear Walkley Community
We just wanted to say a BIG THANK You to all pupils, parents/carers and staff that helped at the Summer Fair! What an amazing team and community we are!
It was an incredible day and you managed to raise an amazing £3536.11 (OUR MOST EVER)
A huge thank you to the Friends of Walkley and all the parent/carers for the organisation and support prior to and on the day of the fair. Our Friends of Walkley are Super!!
Thank you to Mrs Leverton, Mr Drew, Mr Malcolm and Mrs Selwood for raising lots of money by getting sponged again this year. You are heroes!
Huge thanks to everyone who helped run stalls, setting up, tidying away, cooking pizzas, painting faces, serving refreshments, looking after the bouncy castles and so much more. The list is endless and the fair couldn't happen without everyone's help and support.
Thank you to Amy (Dazzle Dance) for squeezing all the dance/cheerleading groups into her very busy schedule on Saturday. They were all brilliant and you can tell a lot of hard work has gone into putting the routines together.
Everyone at Walkley Primary School would like to say a BIG thank you to all the companies (list below) that were able to donate a prize to our Summer Fair raffle which helped us raise so much money. All proceeds from the Summer Fair will go towards enhancing the experiences for all the children in school.

We would like to wish Happy Eid-ul-Adha to all our families celebrating at this time.
Dear Parents/carers
In order to organise the staffing, required funding and provision for the restart of Breakfast Club in September, we need information from parents about how many children will be requiring the service. School purchase food and staffing based on accurate numbers of pupils.
Each day, Breakfast club has a capacity of 80 pupils. It is our hope that Breakfast Club will continue to provide our families that need it a free breakfast each morning for each of their children, as well as support our working families who have difficulties with wrap-around care. With many families still suffering from the implications of months of higher interest rates, spiralling food costs, and high rates of inflation, we are aware that the cost of living crisis is still very real within our community. Obviously, we as a school face these same challenges. That said, it is very important that we continue to offer this free breakfast service to our families. Ensuring a good start to the day for our children continues to have huge benefits to their education and is supportive of our parents needs to.
If parents would like to support the service with monetary donations to Breakfast club this can be done via the Main Office, these would be gratefully received. We do receive some sponsored funding from Greggs the Bakers but to maintain our school inclusivity values, WPS commit to subsidising a top up to ensure a free service to families.
We will be using a register and booking system for Breakfast Club from September so please answer the questions as accurately as you can. Availability of the service on your requested days is subject to overall applications and numbers.
Please complete this survey to enable us to establish registers for Breakfast Club: This form will close on Friday 28th June 2024
Breakfast Club Survey 2024/2025
COMPLETING THIS SURVEY IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF A PLACE AT BREAKFAST CLUB ON THE DAYS REQUESTED. Confirmation of your registered days will be emailed to you before the end of the school year. Breakfast Club will reopen for those registered on Wednesday 4th September 2024.
IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE A SERVICE THAT SUPPORTS AS MANY FAMILIES AS POSSIBLE, PLEASE ONLY SELECT THE DAYS THAT YOU REQUIRE BREAKFAST CLUB. ANY SPACE ASKED FOR NOW BUT NOT USED IN THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR IS A SPACE THAT SOMEONE WHO NEEDS IT COULD BE USING.
If there is a pattern of absence for registered places and they are unused, parents will be informed that the place is to be offered to others on the waiting list to ensure fairness to everyone.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE COMPLETE A SEPARATE FORM FOR EACH OF YOUR CHILDREN.
Many thanks
WPS
I wanted to pass on my congratulations to our Alien word wizards in KS1. This week you underwent your Phonics Screening Check, naming aliens and showing off your phonics skills. YOU WERE AMAZING!!
Well done to all our wonderful staff (Read Write Incers) and our parents and carers for the work done in school and at home to create such confident and accurate readers.
