  • Remote Learning During Lockdown – Accessing Teacher Feedback

Fri 29 Jan 2021 Mr Wallis

    Dear parents and pupils,

It’s fantastic to see the work you are doing at home. We can see how hard you are working, it keeps us motivated when we see your efforts and achievements with the work that we have set. The teachers who set your work on the school website are working from home to produce, record, edit, and direct the videos you see every day. It’s your teachers that set your activities and create the Google quizzes and Google forms you use in your learning.

We appreciate how difficult it can be to complete all your learning and then upload it for the teachers to see and we thank everyone who is using the Google Forms and quizzes on the Blog.

Mr Murphy has produced a short video that explains how to get daily feedback from your teacher using the Google quizzes. We hope it provides you with a quick and easy way to get feedback from your teacher on the work you have done at home.

  • A Wonderful 1st Week of Learning

Fri 15 Jan 2021 Mr Wallis

Well done to all our pupils, parents and staff for our 1st week back learning after the Christmas break. Whether in school or at home, we have been massively impressed with your engagement with the Remote Learning provided by the teaching team. Thank you for your patience as we get to know our new surroundings and our platform for getting ourselves teaching in your houses and of course for your support with the added complication of snowfall disruption.

Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday.

  • Walkley Primary School Christmas Danceathon

Sun 20 Dec 2020 Mr Wallis

This morning, pupils, parents and staff of Walkley Primary School all met on Zoom to take part in a 1 hour Virtual Christmas Fair Danceathon. All in aid of raising money for mirrors for the new school dance studio.

Over the last few weeks, Friends of Walkley have been getting creative to raise much needed funds for the new school. This morning’s get together was lots of fun (and very tiring)!

Lots of thanks to Amy from Dazzle Dance who led the Danceathon ably assisted by her sister Jo and her mum Lynn. As always Amy, thank you for your support of our school. We can’t wait to see you leading dance classes in our new dance studio, and the mirrors will really finish the room off!

As we move to our new school building, let's take a step back and look at our history, from the beginnings of education in Walkey. We'll reflect on the evolution of school life in the buildings and surroundings that have supported the education to thousands of walkley children since 1874.
