  • Walkley Primary School New Build Update

Mon 20 Jan 2020 Mr Wallis

As you will have seen, this week the contractor Interserve and their partners have begun to make significant progress with the new haulage road which is to pass between Burnaby and Tennyson buildings. Also, with help from our Golden Citizens, the trees occupying the location of the new road were moved to the orchard near to the Forest School. Down on the all-weather pitch the new school boundary fencing has been installed to secure the site for construction. Take a look at this week's pictures:

  • Phase 1 of the new build to begin on Monday 6th January

Tue 17 Dec 2019 Mr Wallis

We are pleased to announce that planning permission has been granted, contracts between the School, Local Authority and the Secretary of State have been signed and building work begins imminently. Phase 1 of the project begins on the 6th January 2020.

There will be some changes necessary for accessing the site for children, parents and staff.  We are very excited for work to begin, but obviously there are major implications for safety and safeguarding particularly in Phase 1 of the project where the access road to the new school is being built.

Please follow this link for more information regarding access arrangements from January 2020.
