  We are again offering the opportunity to sell your crafts, unwanted items, or even use the space to promote your business. We are offering tables for hire at £5 each. These will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please send your £5 in a clearly marked envelope as soon as possible to secure yours.

  Thanks to the fabulous fundraising efforts of the Walkley Primary School family we have been able to invest £2500 on new musical equipment. • Online Safety Week - 8th to 12th October 2018

  Throughout the school year and within cross-curricular themes, pupils will enquire and discuss the issues of Personal, Social and Health Education and their relevance for being safe online. 

   

  The theme for this term's online safety is fake news and the use of prejudice and persuasion in the media and online. The example of Woody's Trial, from Toy Story, gives us a way in to discuss how people form opinions about things that have/haven't happened and form assumptions on people's character based on hearsay. 

  Children will conduct class discussion about what happened. Who saw what? Which characters were quick to judge? Who was easily influenced? Should we believe everything we see, hear or are told? What is Fake News?

  We currently have vacancies for two parent governors on the Governing Body, which is open to all parents and guardians of children in this school. Being a governor will afford you the opportunity to help shape and guide the progress of Walkley Primary School.

   

  As a parent governor you hold the unique position of having a parental viewpoint. Through the children you will have first hand experience of the curriculum and how the school is perceived from the consumers’ point of view. You will be able to bring this perspective to the strategic management of the school.
