• Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

  We are very sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II this afternoon.

  We appreciate this is likely to affect our community and our pupils in different ways and we know that some children may have lots of questions. Tomorrow, we will give time in class, with our staff on hand to answer questions and discuss any thoughts and feelings arising from this event.

   

• What a fabulous first week back at school

  It has been a wonderful week in school. Congratulations to all our pupils, you are definitely in the Learning Zone! Many thanks to our parents too for your support of the school as we establish the new school timetable and collection arrangements at the end of the school day. It's easy to forget that in our new school building there are still so many things that are new to us all; changing procedures, activities and events. 

   

  Also, thank you for your response to our request for adherence to the school code of dress. It is something we believe is important for our school community. If we can support parents with this request please let us know. We have a bank of pre-worn clothes left over from the Summer Fair stall that are ready for a new home.

   

  Tomorrow sees the return of Golden Awards Assembly and I cannot wait to share the successes of the children with you in the traditional Walkley way.

  What an amazing afternoon we had celebrating Eid with our Muslim families. Thank you for your very generous and delicious buffet which was enjoyed by parents, pupils, staff and friends.

• Walkley Logo Festival Competition

  During the Summer Term pupils within the local community were invited to design the logo for the Walkley Festival 2023. Three pupils at Walkley have been shortlisted and received art resource prizes for their designs.

• An amazing day - The WPS Summer Fair

  Dear all  

   

  We are very pleased to announce that the Walkley Summer Fair raised a wonderful Two thousand and fifty five pounds!!!

   

  This money will be put towards our school fund for significant investment in the outdoor play spaces.

   

  Huge thank you to all those who helped out in any capacity. Those who donated gifts or their time to support this event

   

  Many thanks for the  Friends of Walkley who did an amazing job  

  gathering and organizing the wonderful prizes

  setting up and running the stalls on the day

  etc etc

  Friends of Walkley Primary – who are we? Friends of Walkley Primary School includes parents, friends and staff of Walkley Primary School and is open to everyone. It is run by a group of parents who coordinate meetings, emails and events. Friends of Walkley Primary – what do we do? In the past we have organized fundraising and community events, such as the summer fair, music events, fashion shows and Christmas fairs. Being a part of Friends of Walkley Primary is a great way to get to know other parents, be part of the community and raise money for the school that benefits our children and their experiences at Walkley Primary.
